Yard Waste Dumpster Rental across Saginaw, Bay City, Midland and the Tri-Cities area

Yards here make debris in bursts. High winds and heavy rain bring limbs down; a landscaping redo pulls out beds, shrubs, sod and mulch at once; spring and fall cleanups fill bag after bag. City of Saginaw residents can take yard waste and brush to the City Compost Site at 2410 Veterans Memorial Pkwy from April 1 to November 30, and City brush pickup comes once a month in season — but City yard-waste pickup takes no stumps, trunks or root balls, City brush pickup takes no limbs over 6 inches across, and every trip to the compost site is one trailer at a time. A container on the driveway takes the whole job the week it happens.

Two things shape the job. Clean green waste is worth keeping clean: Michigan keeps all but small amounts of yard waste out of landfills (MCL 324.11514), so we keep yard waste separate from construction debris and household trash and take it to approved green-waste and composting facilities, where leaves, branches and mulch are recycled into soil and landscaping products. And yard waste is bulky and light until it is not: soil, sod and wet leaves are heavy. We size for the mix.

At a glance

What you get with yard waste dumpster rental

  • Grass clippings and leaves, branches, limbs and trunks cut to size, shrubs, bushes and plants, soil, mulch, sod and wood chips
  • A 15 or 20 yard for most yards; a 10 for small cleanups and light landscaping
  • Same-day or next-day delivery in most areas when available
  • No bags, no trailer trips, no repeat runs to the compost site
  • Green waste taken to approved composting facilities
  • Separate containers for organic and non-organic waste on mixed jobs

Storm cleanup, tree work and landscape redos

Storm cleanup is the big one. High winds or heavy rain can leave fallen limbs and scattered debris across a yard in an afternoon, and a 20 yard on the driveway takes the whole pile in one go.

Landscape and tree jobs are the planned version — lawn renovations, garden overhauls and replanting, tree trimming or removal, patio and pool-area landscaping, seasonal yard prep, and upkeep on rental and HOA properties. Landscapers and property managers can set up recurring pickups. If you are also replacing a fence, pulling out a deck or doing yard construction, we can provide separate dumpsters for the organic and non-organic waste, so the green load stays green.

Soil, sod and the weight line

Branches, brush and hedge trimmings are light. Soil, sod and wet leaves are not. A 20 of brush is nowhere near its weight allowance; a 20 heaped with dirt is well over it. Tell us the mix and we will size it, with no upselling — a 15 or 20 for the green waste and, if there is a lot of soil, a smaller box alongside, kept within the weight limit. Cut limbs and trunks to size so they load flat and stay level with or below the top rim.

Yard waste — the local specifics

Every town has its own yard-waste setup, and none of them is built for a whole yard at once. In Saginaw, the City Compost Site at 2410 Veterans Memorial Pkwy is open April 1 to November 30, City yard waste goes out in paper bags or labelled cans from the first full week of April to the first full week of December, and City brush pickup comes once a month from April to November, with piles no bigger than 4 by 4 by 10 feet. Richland Township residents can take brush and compost to the township site behind the cemetery in the 15000 block of Gratiot Road, April 1 to November 30. St. Charles runs a village compost pile for residents' own yard waste, April to November (Village Code § 28-68). Carrollton Township's brush pickup does not cover contractor brush or whole-tree removals, Chesaning does not accept brush at its DPW or pick up brush cut by a contractor, and Bridgeport Township's chipping crews refuse branches mixed with fence posts, wire or building material. Under Michigan law, yard waste means leaves, grass clippings, garden debris, shrubbery and brush or tree trimmings under 4 feet long and 2 inches across that can be composted — stumps and roots are not part of that definition (MCL 324.11506). A container is for the pile that is bigger, heavier or sooner than any of that. The what can and cannot go in guide explains what has to stay out of a green load.

Answers

Yard Waste Dumpster Rental — your questions answered

Do I need to bag or bundle the brush?

No. Load it as it comes — cut long limbs and trunks to size, keep everything level with or below the top rim, and keep household trash, construction debris and chemicals out of it.

Can I put dirt in a yard waste dumpster?

Yes — soil, mulch and sod are accepted. Soil is heavy, so it goes in a smaller box or its own load within the weight limit. Tell us when you book and we plan the loads.

Can I put a whole tree in?

Cut to size, yes — limbs, branches and trunks are fine. Big trunks and root balls are heavy, so tell us about them and we help you stay within the weight limit.

How fast after a storm can you deliver?

Same-day or next-day delivery is often possible, depending on availability — call before noon for the best chance. If the week after a storm is busy, we tell you honestly when to expect the container.

Do you recycle green waste?

Yes. Yard waste goes to approved green-waste and composting facilities, where it is recycled into soil and landscaping products. Michigan keeps all but small amounts of yard waste out of landfills, so a clean load matters — keep construction debris and household trash out of it.
