Approx. 6 road miles from the yard, around 14 minutes.

Carrollton is approx. 6 road miles northeast of the yard, around 14 minutes — same-day or next-day options when available, once the Township's rules for the job are checked. Carrollton isn't a city or a Census place: it's a community in Carrollton Township, which had 5,750 people at the 2020 Census, in Saginaw County.

Township trash follows vendor contracts held by the Mid Michigan Waste Authority, and every dwelling must use the township service (§ 42-20(b), (d)). The Township doesn't serve commercial or industrial premises, which must make their own provision (§ 42-20(c)). Remodels, roofs and clean-outs are roll-off work — once the Township's rules are checked.

Local knowledge

Getting our bearings in Carrollton

Knowing a city properly is the difference between covering it and showing up with the right box.

  • Township or contract hauler — “All refuse accumulated in the township shall be collected, conveyed and disposed of by the township or contract hauler, under contract to the township” (§ 42-20(a)).
  • Out of sight from the road — a container that stores trash or debris must be reasonably hidden from view from the road and not kept in front of a home (§ 42-58(f), 2023).
  • Brush pickup — the last 2026 township pickup is October 26; it doesn't cover contracted work, excessive brush from vacant land or businesses, or entire tree removal.
  • Roads — Saginaw County Road Commission roads; vehicles park within 2 ft of the curb, or off the main travel lanes where there's no curb (§ 54-28(d)).
  • Township office — (989) 754-4611.

What comes out of Carrollton properties

Garage clutter in 10s, flooring and yard debris in 15s, roofing and remodels in 20s, large clean-outs in 30s, and demolition or major construction in 40s. The township brush pickup leaves out contracted work and whole-tree removal — that brush goes in its own container, kept separate from other debris.

Michigan law keeps these out of landfills (MCL 324.11514): used oil, lead-acid batteries, regulated hazardous waste, low-level radioactive waste, liquid waste and loads with free liquids, sewage, PCBs and medical waste; asbestos only goes to a landfill set up for it; and no more than a small amount of whole tires, used beverage containers or yard waste — leaves, grass, brush and trimmings under 4 feet long and 2 inches across (MCL 324.11506). Keep yard waste separate from construction debris and household trash and tell us when a load is yard waste. Fridges, freezers and air conditioners need the refrigerant removed by a certified technician first, EGLE says, so ask before loading one. No paint, solvents, automotive fluids, propane tanks, fuel containers, batteries, medical waste, asbestos or hazardous chemicals in our containers. Household chemicals aren't banned from landfills, but EGLE says they are not well suited for disposal there. Michigan has haulers remind customers every year what's banned (MCL 324.11527a) — our what can and can't go in a dumpster guide covers it. Saginaw County residents can book the Mid Michigan Waste Authority's free household hazardous waste program, which runs April through September by appointment; the County's Clean Sweep takes agricultural pesticides and mercury by appointment ((989) 758-3685); and the County Mosquito Abatement Commission takes residents' used tires, May through August, 10 per property a year, at 705 N Towerline, Saginaw.

Permits, placement and who may haul in Carrollton

Who may haul — read this first: “No person shall collect, convey over any of the streets or alleys or dispose of any refuse accumulated in the township” except the Township or its contract hauler (§ 42-20(a)), and refuse means “all putrescible and nonputrescible solid wastes” (§ 42-19). We found no exception for roll-offs or construction debris, and commercial and industrial premises arrange their own service (§ 42-20(c)). We check the Township's rules before booking a container in Carrollton. We're licensed and insured.

Placement: no refuse may sit in a street or on private property unless it's in proper containers or the supervisor approves it (§ 42-58(a)), and a container storing trash or debris must be reasonably hidden from view from the road and not kept in front of a home (§ 42-58(f)). That reads like a rule for permanent containers, but we check placement with you before delivery. Sidewalks stay clear of vehicles, trailers and equipment (§ 46-1). You do not need to be home as long as the spot is clear, our drivers use boards and careful placement to protect concrete and asphalt, and please don't move the container once it's down — call us and we'll move it.

Roads and winter: township roads are Saginaw County Road Commission right-of-way, and we found no dumpster permit — the FY 26-27 fee schedule lists none. Street and parking conditions are set by Township Board resolution (§ 54-27), which we couldn't find online. Keep the container off the road.

State highways: MDOT manages the state highway right-of-way, and we found no MDOT permit for setting a private container on it — so beside a state highway the container goes on private property, never in the right-of-way. We check the exact address.

Covered loads: Michigan bars driving a vehicle unless it is loaded so nothing can drop, sift, leak, blow off or escape, and open loads must be covered or secured (MCL 257.720). Keep debris level with or below the top rim — that's what makes the load safe to transport.

Remodel or tear-down: before a regulated demolition or renovation, EGLE wants notice through its MiEnviro Portal at least 10 working days ahead. Privately owned homes of four or fewer units aren't covered by the federal asbestos rule (NESHAP) unless they come down for urban renewal or as part of a public or commercial project; apartment buildings of five or more units are. Removing more than 10 linear feet or 15 square feet of friable asbestos also needs MIOSHA notice 10 days ahead, so asbestos rules may still apply to a house. Asbestos never goes in our containers; tell us if you find any.

How it works

Booking a dumpster in Carrollton

Booking a container here takes one phone call and about five minutes.

  1. Step 1: Call and tell us the job

One short conversation. We ask the address, what you are clearing — a cleanout, a renovation, a roof, a yard, a job site — what you are tossing, roughly how much there is, and how much room the driveway or lot gives us.

  2. Step 2: We size it and quote it flat

We recommend the right size, so you do not pay for more than you need or run out of space, and you get a flat-rate quote whenever possible that covers delivery, pickup, the rental period and disposal within the weight limit. If it is concrete, shingles or dirt, we say up front that weight decides the size.

  3. Step 3: Delivered where you want it

The driver sets the container on the driveway, lot or job site where you asked, on a flat, solid surface rather than the lawn, with protection boards on request. Often same-day or next-day, when available. You do not need to be home if the area is clear.

  4. Step 4: Load it at your pace

Keep it level with or below the top rim and keep the problem items out — paint, solvents and other liquids, oil and fuel, chemicals, car batteries, tires, propane tanks and fuel containers, medical waste and asbestos. Electronics go to recycling instead. Need more time or a swap mid-job? One call.

  5. Step 5: We pick it up and handle the disposal

Call or text when it is full — in most cases we can collect your bin within 24 hours. The load is covered or tied down for the road and goes to a licensed Mid Michigan disposal or recycling facility, with concrete, wood and metal recycled whenever possible.
