Residential Dumpster Rental
Driveway-friendly roll-off containers for Saginaw-area homeowners clearing garages, attics, remodels, roofs, moves, estates and yards.

Service area
Seventeen towns and one yard in Saginaw. Here is every place we cover, grouped by area, each with its own page on access, local character and what the town's own rules say about containers in the street and who may haul.
We run roll-off containers out of 1201 S Wheeler St — inside the City of Saginaw, Saginaw County, on the west side of the river near M-46 (Gratiot Avenue) — to every town below. Distance is the first thing that changes. Approximate road miles from the yard: central Saginaw about 4, Carrollton about 6, Zilwaukee and Bridgeport about 9, Freeland about 12, Hemlock about 13, St. Charles about 16, Bay City and Reese about 17, Merrill about 18, Frankenmuth about 19, Birch Run about 20, Auburn and Essexville about 21, Vassar about 22, Midland about 24 and Chesaning about 27. Same-day or next-day is available when scheduling allows, and route timing decides the rest. Places without their own page, such as Saginaw Township, Buena Vista Township and Shields, are inside our run too.
The second thing that changes is the rules. In the City of Saginaw, a street, alley or right-of-way placement needs a written permit from the City Engineer first (City Code § 96.004), and we found no City or state hauler licence. Bay City requires a yearly, non-exclusive City franchise for anyone collecting or transporting construction or demolition debris for clients in the city (City Code § 86-29), and its Encroachment Permit covers placing a dumpster. Essexville requires a City refuse-collector licence (§ 2.710), Tittabawassee Township, around Freeland, a township hauling licence (§ 54-88), and St. Charles Village Council authorization (§ 28-33). Frankenmuth (Ch. 21 § 2.1), Reese (§ 26-22), Vassar (§ 58-32), Zilwaukee (§ 22-19) and Carrollton Township (§ 42-20) keep refuse collection for the city, village or township and its contractor, so in those five we check the rules before booking. In Chesaning, the zoning code lists roll-off containers among commercial vehicles, which on homes belong in a side or rear yard (§ 5.02(P)), so we check placement with you before delivery. Township roads are Saginaw County Road Commission right-of-way, and state trunklines such as M-46, M-13, M-47, M-52, M-57, M-81, M-15, I-75 and I-675 are MDOT right-of-way, where we found no container permit. We are licensed & insured. Each town page quotes the section and gives the office to call. We would rather say it here than find out on delivery day.
The service area
The run splits three ways: Saginaw and the communities next door — Zilwaukee, Carrollton, Bridgeport and Freeland; around Saginaw County, from Hemlock, Merrill and St. Charles to Chesaning, Frankenmuth and Birch Run, with Reese and Vassar over the Tuscola County line; and Bay City, Essexville, Auburn and Midland.
Saginaw, where the yard is, plus Zilwaukee, Carrollton, Bridgeport and Freeland — roughly 4 to 12 road miles out (approx.). A container in a Saginaw street needs a City Engineer permit (City Code § 96.004) and street parking is banned 3 to 6 a.m. (§ 72.15), so the driveway comes first. Zilwaukee (§ 22-19) and Carrollton Township (§ 42-20) reserve refuse collection to the City or Township and its contract hauler, so we check their rules before booking there; Tittabawassee Township, around Freeland, licenses haulers (§ 54-88). Same-day or next-day options when available; call before noon for the best chance of a same-afternoon drop.
Hemlock, Merrill, St. Charles, Chesaning, Frankenmuth and Birch Run in Saginaw County, and Reese and Vassar in Tuscola County — roughly 13 to 27 road miles from the yard (approx.). Frankenmuth (Ch. 21 § 2.1) and Reese (§ 26-22) reserve solid waste to the City's or Village's own hauler, and Vassar does the same for homes and downtown (§ 58-32), so we check their rules before booking there. St. Charles licenses garbage collection (§ 28-33), and Chesaning's zoning lists roll-off containers as commercial vehicles, so we check placement with you before delivery. Same-day or next-day options when available.
Bay City, Essexville and Auburn in Bay County, and Midland — roughly 17 to 24 road miles from the yard (approx.). Bay City requires a yearly franchise for anyone hauling construction or demolition debris for clients in the city (§ 86-29) and an Encroachment Permit for a dumpster in the right-of-way; Essexville licenses refuse collectors (§ 2.710) and keeps the outlawn clear (§ 4.404); Midland needs City permission for any use of the right-of-way (§ 48-1). Same-day or next-day options when available; call before noon for the best chance.

Answers
Many of them, depending on where the trucks are and when you call — before noon gives you the best chance. The closest runs from the yard are central Saginaw, about 4 road miles, Carrollton, about 6, and Zilwaukee and Bridgeport, about 9; the furthest are Vassar, about 22, Midland, about 24, and Chesaning, about 27.
Yes, call — Saginaw Township, Buena Vista Township, Shields and the townships and rural roads between our towns are inside our run; they just do not have their own pages. Tell us the address and we will tell you which rules apply. The rules follow the city, village or township the property is in, not the mailing address.
Because a few places license haulers and a few keep collection for their own systems. Bay City requires a yearly City franchise for construction and demolition debris haulers, Essexville, Tittabawassee Township and St. Charles license or authorize haulers, and Frankenmuth, Reese, Vassar, Zilwaukee and Carrollton Township keep refuse collection for the city, village or township and its contractor. We state what each town says.
The flat rate depends partly on the delivery location, so the furthest towns can cost a little more — we say so up front.
To a licensed Mid Michigan disposal or recycling facility, as Michigan requires of haulers (MCL 324.11527). Recyclable material goes to recycling facilities whenever they accept it. The Bay City transfer station does not accept waste from private haulers, and the City of Midland Landfill takes only waste generated in Midland County, so neither is where our loads go.
