Saginaw is home. The US Census geocoder puts the yard at 1201 S Wheeler St inside the City of Saginaw — not Saginaw Township, whose line is a few hundred yards away — on a City street on the west side of the river, near M-46. We offer same-day and next-day delivery across Saginaw whenever possible; call before noon and we can often deliver that same afternoon.
Saginaw is a city of 44,202 at the 2020 Census, in Saginaw County (190,124). City trash runs through the City and the Mid Michigan Waste Authority, and City Code § 50.06 lists stones, bricks, plaster, shingles, lumber, demolition and building materials, concrete and material from contract work as things City collection won't take. Roofs, kitchens, tear-outs and whole-house clean-outs are roll-off work.

Local knowledge
Getting our bearings in Saginaw
Knowing a city properly is the difference between covering it and showing up with the right box.
- The yard is in the city — 1201 S Wheeler St, on a City street on the west side of the river, near M-46 (Census geocoder: Saginaw city, Saginaw County).
- Mid Michigan Waste Authority — a public authority formed in 1991 by area public works directors, with 34 member communities; the City of Saginaw has a seat on its board. MMWA residents may set out up to two bulk items a week.
- City carts and bags — cans of no more than 35 gallons, 50 lb with contents, and no more than 20 bags per household a week (City Code § 50.05).
- Convenience Station — behind Public Works at 1435 S Washington Ave, the 2nd Saturday of every month, 8 a.m. to noon, City residents only and once a month; no roofing debris including shingles.
- Compost Site — 2410 Veterans Memorial Pkwy, open to the public April 1 through November 30 for yard waste and brush.
- Brush pickup — monthly, April 1 to November 30; the west side is picked up the 1st through the 15th, piles no larger than 4 ft wide, 4 ft high and 10 ft long, limbs up to 6 inches.
What comes out of Saginaw properties
Kitchen remodels in 10s and 15s, a roof of around 2,000 sq ft in a 15, whole-home clean-outs in 20s, large clean-outs and commercial jobs in 30s, and new construction or demolition in 30s and 40s. Heavy materials like concrete and shingles go in separately to stay inside weight limits — we'll guide you on the most cost-effective way to load. Everything City pickup turns away under § 50.06 — shingles, lumber, plaster, brick, concrete and contractor debris — is exactly what a roll-off is for.
Michigan law keeps these out of landfills (MCL 324.11514): used oil, lead-acid batteries, regulated hazardous waste, low-level radioactive waste, liquid waste and loads with free liquids, sewage, PCBs and medical waste; asbestos only goes to a landfill set up for it; and no more than a small amount of whole tires, used beverage containers or yard waste — leaves, grass, brush and trimmings under 4 feet long and 2 inches across (MCL 324.11506). Keep yard waste separate from construction debris and household trash and tell us when a load is yard waste. Fridges, freezers and air conditioners need the refrigerant removed by a certified technician first, EGLE says, so ask before loading one. No paint, solvents, automotive fluids, propane tanks, fuel containers, batteries, medical waste, asbestos or hazardous chemicals in our containers. Household chemicals aren't banned from landfills, but EGLE says they are not well suited for disposal there. Michigan has haulers remind customers every year what's banned (MCL 324.11527a) — our what can and can't go in a dumpster guide covers it. Saginaw County residents can book the Mid Michigan Waste Authority's free household hazardous waste program, which runs April through September by appointment; the County's Clean Sweep takes agricultural pesticides and mercury by appointment ((989) 758-3685); and the County Mosquito Abatement Commission takes residents' used tires, May through August, 10 per property a year, at 705 N Towerline, Saginaw.

Permits, placement and who may haul in Saginaw
Who may haul: in the City's residential collection district, refuse is collected by the City or its commercial hauler — a hauler under contract with the City — and owners of homes with four or fewer units must subscribe to City service (City Code §§ 50.01, 50.02). City collection excludes construction and demolition debris and contractor waste (§ 50.06), and that's the roll-off job. We found no City, Saginaw County or state hauler licence; EGLE says its solid waste rules don't require one to haul. We're licensed and insured.
In the street: using or obstructing a street, alley, right-of-way or public easement — including storing materials or equipment there — needs a written permit from the City Engineer (City Code § 96.004). Obstructions are barricaded as the City Engineer directs and to the Michigan Manual of Uniform Traffic Control Devices, and the fee doubles if work starts without a permit. No City page names a dumpster permit; the City's permits page lists a Work Within Right of Way permit and a Barricade permit (a diagram and 48 hours' notice), each valid 60 days, and says the right-of-way runs from about the center of the road to about three feet behind the sidewalk. Ask the Engineering Division, Public Services building basement, 1435 S Washington Ave, 989-759-1410, which one applies. Our Saginaw permit guide walks through it.
On your property: we found no City dumpster permit for a container on your own driveway or yard. Keep it off the sidewalk and street. Building materials stored outside on private property are tied to an active City building permit (§ 94.065). You do not need to be home as long as the spot is clear, our drivers use boards and careful placement to protect concrete and asphalt, and please don't move the container once it's down — call us and we'll move it.
Parking and winter: no parking on any City street from 3 to 6 a.m. (§ 72.15 and the City's Parking page), and trailers may stay on a City street no longer than one hour (§ 72.18). Local streets are plowed last — the City aims to clear them within 72 hours after the snow stops. We found no declared snow-emergency ban. Driveway first.
State highways: the City controls all public right-of-way except the state routes — M-13, M-46, M-58, M-81 and M-84 (City Engineering FAQ). MDOT manages the state highway right-of-way, and we found no MDOT permit for setting a private container on it — so beside a state highway the container goes on private property, never in the right-of-way. We check the exact address.
Covered loads: Michigan bars driving a vehicle unless it is loaded so nothing can drop, sift, leak, blow off or escape, and open loads must be covered or secured (MCL 257.720). Keep debris level with or below the top rim — that's what makes the load safe to transport.
Remodel or tear-down: before a regulated demolition or renovation, EGLE wants notice through its MiEnviro Portal at least 10 working days ahead. Privately owned homes of four or fewer units aren't covered by the federal asbestos rule (NESHAP) unless they come down for urban renewal or as part of a public or commercial project; apartment buildings of five or more units are. Removing more than 10 linear feet or 15 square feet of friable asbestos also needs MIOSHA notice 10 days ahead, so asbestos rules may still apply to a house. Asbestos never goes in our containers; tell us if you find any.

How it works
Booking a dumpster in Saginaw
Booking a container here takes one phone call and about five minutes.
Step 1: Call and tell us the job
One short conversation. We ask the address, what you are clearing — a cleanout, a renovation, a roof, a yard, a job site — what you are tossing, roughly how much there is, and how much room the driveway or lot gives us.
Step 2: We size it and quote it flat
We recommend the right size, so you do not pay for more than you need or run out of space, and you get a flat-rate quote whenever possible that covers delivery, pickup, the rental period and disposal within the weight limit. If it is concrete, shingles or dirt, we say up front that weight decides the size.
Step 3: Delivered where you want it
The driver sets the container on the driveway, lot or job site where you asked, on a flat, solid surface rather than the lawn, with protection boards on request. Often same-day or next-day, when available. You do not need to be home if the area is clear.
Step 4: Load it at your pace
Keep it level with or below the top rim and keep the problem items out — paint, solvents and other liquids, oil and fuel, chemicals, car batteries, tires, propane tanks and fuel containers, medical waste and asbestos. Electronics go to recycling instead. Need more time or a swap mid-job? One call.
Step 5: We pick it up and handle the disposal
Call or text when it is full — in most cases we can collect your bin within 24 hours. The load is covered or tied down for the road and goes to a licensed Mid Michigan disposal or recycling facility, with concrete, wood and metal recycled whenever possible.

Do I need a permit for a dumpster in Saginaw?
On your own driveway or yard, we found no City dumpster permit. In a street, alley or right-of-way, yes: a written permit from the City Engineer (City Code Sec. 96.004). Ask the Engineering Division, 989-759-1410, which permit applies.
