Roll-off dumpster rental in Frankenmuth

Approx. 19 road miles from the yard, around 26 minutes.

Frankenmuth is approx. 19 road miles east-southeast of the yard, around 26 minutes — same-day or next-day options when available, once the City's rules for the job are checked. It is a city of 4,987 at the 2020 Census, in Saginaw County.

The City provides collection of solid waste, recyclables and yard waste for all properties in the City (Ch. 21 § 2.3), through the Mid Michigan Waste Authority for homes, and its code counts building materials and bulk items as rubbish (§ 2.2). The only stated exception needs City Council approval (§ 2.6), so a roll-off job here starts with the City's rules.

Local knowledge

Getting our bearings in Frankenmuth

Knowing a city properly is the difference between covering it and showing up with the right box.

  • Sole and exclusive hauler — the code keeps the City's authority as the “sole and exclusive hauler of all solid waste generated by residential and commercial locations in the City” (Ch. 21 § 2.1).
  • Non-residential dumpsters — the City “requires the participation of all non-residential dumpsters” in its commercial containerized collection (Trash and Recycle page); City office 989-652-9901.
  • Street permit — occupying a street, lawn extension or sidewalk needs a Superintendent of Public Works permit, a cash deposit and insurance (Ch. 41 §§ 4.1, 4.26, 4.3).
  • Winter parking — no parking on any street from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m., November 1 to April 30 (§ 4.39).
  • Brush chipping — curbside on the first Monday of each month, April to December; limbs up to 5 inches, no stumps.
  • DPW — 216 W. Schleier St, 989-652-3443.

What comes out of Frankenmuth properties

Kitchen and bath remodels in 10s and 15s, roofing and whole-home clean-outs in 20s, commercial jobs and large clean-outs in 30s, and major construction or demolition in 40s. City bags top out at 33 gallons and 50 lb, with up to two large items a week through MMWA — building debris is a different job.

Michigan law keeps these out of landfills (MCL 324.11514): used oil, lead-acid batteries, regulated hazardous waste, low-level radioactive waste, liquid waste and loads with free liquids, sewage, PCBs and medical waste; asbestos only goes to a landfill set up for it; and no more than a small amount of whole tires, used beverage containers or yard waste — leaves, grass, brush and trimmings under 4 feet long and 2 inches across (MCL 324.11506). Keep yard waste separate from construction debris and household trash and tell us when a load is yard waste. Fridges, freezers and air conditioners need the refrigerant removed by a certified technician first, EGLE says, so ask before loading one. No paint, solvents, automotive fluids, propane tanks, fuel containers, batteries, medical waste, asbestos or hazardous chemicals in our containers. Household chemicals aren't banned from landfills, but EGLE says they are not well suited for disposal there. Michigan has haulers remind customers every year what's banned (MCL 324.11527a) — our what can and can't go in a dumpster guide covers it. Saginaw County residents can book the Mid Michigan Waste Authority's free household hazardous waste program, which runs April through September by appointment; the County's Clean Sweep takes agricultural pesticides and mercury by appointment ((989) 758-3685); and the County Mosquito Abatement Commission takes residents' used tires, May through August, 10 per property a year, at 705 N Towerline, Saginaw.

Permits, placement and who may haul in Frankenmuth

Who may haul — read this first: Frankenmuth's Solid Waste chapter says the City “will provide for collection and disposal of solid waste, recyclable materials and yard waste for all properties within the City” (§ 2.3(1)) and keeps its authority as the “sole and exclusive hauler of all solid waste generated by residential and commercial locations in the City” (§ 2.1). A licensed hauler is one with a contract with the City (§ 2.2(6)), the code's dumpster definition covers 1- to 12-yard front- and rear-load containers (§ 2.2(4)), and the only exception needs specific City Council approval (§ 2.6). The code doesn't mention roll-offs, so we check the City's rules before booking a container in Frankenmuth. We're licensed and insured.

In the street: “No person shall occupy any street with any materials or machinery incidental to the construction, demolition or repair of any building adjacent to said street, or for any other purpose, without first obtaining a permit from the Superintendent” and posting a cash deposit and insurance (§ 4.26, § 4.3); a street includes lawn extensions and sidewalks (§ 4.1). Obstructions are barricaded and lit at night with prescribed warning lights (§ 4.31), and five feet of sidewalk stays clear (§ 4.27). Driveway first. You do not need to be home as long as the spot is clear, our drivers use boards and careful placement to protect concrete and asphalt, and please don't move the container once it's down — call us and we'll move it.

Winter and trucks: no parking on any street from 2 a.m. to 6 a.m., November 1 to April 30 (§ 4.39). Commercial vehicles of 26,001 lb or more don't park in residential zones except to load or unload or during construction, and construction noise runs 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. (2025 Municipal Services Guide).

State highways: M-83 runs through Frankenmuth. MDOT manages the state highway right-of-way, and we found no MDOT permit for setting a private container on it — so beside a state highway the container goes on private property, never in the right-of-way. We check the exact address.

Covered loads: Michigan bars driving a vehicle unless it is loaded so nothing can drop, sift, leak, blow off or escape, and open loads must be covered or secured (MCL 257.720). Keep debris level with or below the top rim — that's what makes the load safe to transport.

Remodel or tear-down: before a regulated demolition or renovation, EGLE wants notice through its MiEnviro Portal at least 10 working days ahead. Privately owned homes of four or fewer units aren't covered by the federal asbestos rule (NESHAP) unless they come down for urban renewal or as part of a public or commercial project; apartment buildings of five or more units are. Removing more than 10 linear feet or 15 square feet of friable asbestos also needs MIOSHA notice 10 days ahead, so asbestos rules may still apply to a house. Asbestos never goes in our containers; tell us if you find any.

How it works

Booking a dumpster in Frankenmuth

Booking a container here takes one phone call and about five minutes.

  1. Step 1: Call and tell us the job

One short conversation. We ask the address, what you are clearing — a cleanout, a renovation, a roof, a yard, a job site — what you are tossing, roughly how much there is, and how much room the driveway or lot gives us.

  2. Step 2: We size it and quote it flat

We recommend the right size, so you do not pay for more than you need or run out of space, and you get a flat-rate quote whenever possible that covers delivery, pickup, the rental period and disposal within the weight limit. If it is concrete, shingles or dirt, we say up front that weight decides the size.

  3. Step 3: Delivered where you want it

The driver sets the container on the driveway, lot or job site where you asked, on a flat, solid surface rather than the lawn, with protection boards on request. Often same-day or next-day, when available. You do not need to be home if the area is clear.

  4. Step 4: Load it at your pace

Keep it level with or below the top rim and keep the problem items out — paint, solvents and other liquids, oil and fuel, chemicals, car batteries, tires, propane tanks and fuel containers, medical waste and asbestos. Electronics go to recycling instead. Need more time or a swap mid-job? One call.

  5. Step 5: We pick it up and handle the disposal

Call or text when it is full — in most cases we can collect your bin within 24 hours. The load is covered or tied down for the road and goes to a licensed Mid Michigan disposal or recycling facility, with concrete, wood and metal recycled whenever possible.
